“We Can’t Wait!” (Except when it might benefit ObaMao’s chances for re-election.)

Keystone MapWith every economic and national security indicator pointing to the need for immediate approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline Project, ObaMao has decided instead to placate environmentalist fanatics by moving decision on the project beyond the next election. Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper, frustrated by ObaMao’s cynical inaction, and saying that the decision to delay approval has produced  “extremely negative reactions”, has announced that Canada will explore opportunities to export more oil to…China.

North American Oil to ChinaGreat. Just what we need. Here’s a perfect example of a “shovel ready” project that would create thousands of high-paying jobs for Americans (and Canadians), but ObaMao would rather slither around the country pimping his so-called “jobs bill”, which is really a thinly disguised package of tax increases.

“Diesel fuel is, and will likely continue to be, the lifeblood of the American trucking industry,” ATA President and CEO Bill Graves said. “The State Department can help ensure that the 18-wheelers that deliver America’s essential goods like food, fuel and medicine have reliable access to that fuel by approving the Keystone XL project. Approving this project would give a green light to thousands of new jobs and a much needed economic stimulus.”

If we’re lucky, November 2012 will see this man relegated to the dustbin of history, where he can assume his place alongside Jimmah Carter in the Hall of Worst Presidents.

Do You Have a Ticket on The Cain Train?

It’s clear from the polls and other analysis that conservative Americans don’t want a pale, purpley candidate to run against ObaMao. (See the BLUE area of the simplified political chart? It’s where Romney lives.)

We All Liked Ike, but Mitt Doesn’t Fit. Different time; different world.

MittThere is much to admire in Romney, but he’s not an answer to four years of quick-march to socialism under ObaMao, whose minions have been frantically stuffing the massive bloated bureaucracy of the federal government with like-minded progressives, socialists, communists, and Marxists. We all know that Bureaucrats are Forever. As ObaMao increasingly governs by executive order and bureaucratic rule-making, he removes any slight barrier that the alphabet agencies may have felt constrained by in the past to absolute statism by regulatory fiat.

Mormons react rabidly to any criticism of their favored son, but that’s nothing new. They’re Kool-Aid drinkers. Always have been, always will be. (Full disclosure: I am a Mormon, but that’s another story, and probably only until someone in the management of the church discovers that I am also often a heretic.) The simple fact is that the LDS (Mormon) church, not unlike the REST of the organized religions in America wants what’s best for its own ruling elite and for its own organizational prosperity; witness the four-square support of the churches for unrestrained immigration, and especially for illegal immigrants. They are organizationally far-sighted by nature. That’s what using THIS life to prepare for another does for you. They fully understand that, a few generations hence, America will be Mexamerica, that our own culture is dying of cancer and the loss of will to live. Admirably pragmatic, they are busy as bees in a hive preparing to live and prosper in the NEW culture. That means getting the maximum number of tithe-paying Mexican asses into church pews. That means brainwashing their children for the future benefit of the church. That means perfecting the business of supplying cheap illegal slave labor to the movers and shakers in the church. Who cares where they were born? We’re all God’s children, right? That means continuing to push church-formulated strategy into the political process, and no one does that better than Mormons. I don’t mean to single out Mormons here; they all do this, all of the organized religions. Mormons are especially good at some parts of it.

Instinctively, I wanted Newt. He’s the smartest guy in any room, except when he’s thinking with the little head instead of the big one. That’s an almost universal and uniquely male failing, and it drove a nail through Newt’s substantial value to America. ObaMao, on the other hand, has convinced himself that he’s the Smartest Man in the World, and he’s pretty good at convincing glazed-eyed idolaters of it as well; that’s what narcissists do best. But America won’t have Newt. So I switched my attention to Bachmann, and I still believe she would be a great president, but America apparently won’t have a woman as president if she possesses any shred of femininity. Hillary Clinton could be elected. But not Bachmann, and certainly not Palin. I love Ron Paul, and I have a broad streak of Libertarianism in my heart, but Libertarianism is too radical for people who openly embrace statism, Marxism, communism, socialism or all of the aforementioned. And half of all modern-day Americans are perfectly comfortable living in Dependistan, their half of what used to be the UNITED States of America. So Ron Paul will have to remain our Don Quixote. But I still love the old guy. Santorum? I only know that he’s a proven loser. He might be a fine person, but who needs someone who loses an election with everything in his favor? Perry? GWB Junior, you mean? GWB and Perry only look good when they’re compared with the current Commander Of Chief of the 57 states. No, I’m with Jesse Jackson on this one; “Stay out da’ Bushes!” and that includes Rick Perry.

Herman Cain

This will come as a surprise only to people who may have known me for many years, but never really knew me at all; I’m going for a ride on the CAIN TRAIN. Not because he’s a viable also-ran to Newt and Bachmann…I’ve previously known little about him, but the more I learn, the more I like him. One of my relatives recently called me a racist for daring to take issue with the ObaMaos. The guy should know better. I always thought this relative was a smart guy, but it turns out he was merely clever. Big difference. Got it. Anyway, read Pruden on WHY the Herman Cain phenomenon sends the ObaMaos off the edge of sanity. It’s great fun watching these boobs foam at the mouth. (By the way, I’ve come to use this term “ObaMaos” collectively as well as individually, to mean not only ObaMao himself, you know, The One, but to encompass the whole body of swooning zombies who still want to lick his feet.)

It was only a matter of time; now we have the first politician (Democrat – what else) suing his critics for “loss of livelihood” owing to his defeat at the polls.

They really DO think they’re entitled to rule for life, don’t they?

When voters in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District threw Democrat Steve Driehaus out of office after only one term, he did not bow out gracefully. No, he decided to get even. So he did what anyone does in today’s culture: he sued somebody.

Quit whining, Driehaus; get a REAL job. Hard to believe a judge would allow this suit to proceed, but hey, judges are lawyers too. Unfortunately, many of them are also Democrats.

Substitute the United States of America for what Greenspan refers to as “Southern Europe” and China for what he refers to as “Northern Europe” and think about what happens here when the “North” stops subsidizing the “excess consumption” of the “South.”

Hopeless…and Change

After America - SteynMark Steyn summed it up in the opening pages of his new book After America: Get Ready for Armageddon, writing “The existential questions for America loom not decades hence, but right now. It is not that we are on a luge ride to oblivion but that the prevailing political realities of the United States do not allow for any meaningful course correction. And, without meaningful course correction, America is doomed.” He goes on to observe that “…over the last three-quarters of a century, the United States has adopted a form of government all but impervious to reality.”

I have often been an incredulous observer of our decline as a nation, as a society, and as a culture. In my thirties, when first I took note of things going seriously sideways, I was willing and able to write off my foreboding to the same sort of maladjustment older people experienced when Elvis Presley was first all the rage, or the Beatles, or Beatniks, for that matter. A non-specific uneasiness, a case of intellectual hives, so to speak, as the comfortable, stable, “proper” ways of our past diminished around me.

Now older, wiser, more cynical, more intelligent, and more informed than in my salad days, I can no longer avoid the conclusion that the inspiring words of A. Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address were hopelessly naive, though beautiful in their brevity and optimism in the wake of the great bloodletting of America’s first civil war. “…that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Anyway, I’ve done little in this ether but color the thoughts and observations of my betters, and it is getting tiresome. It’s all there for any who wish to see, and for those that don’t, nothing I write will have the slightest effect. If history teaches us nothing else, it proves the lie of Lincoln’s resolve. Government of the people, by the people, for the people (if that’s what we truly began with) will, of course, perish from the earth. It is axiomatic; ALL governments will eventually perish from the earth, as have all the ancient nations. Indeed, America may be viewed as a dead state walking, and it may be sensibly argued only when the cancerous cells first took a death grip in the organism. Maybe you think it started with Theodore Roosevelt. Many would probably say that the nail was driven through the heart of America by Woodrow Wilson. Franklin Roosevelt must surely rank high among the contenders. But in any case, the flame gutters, the wick burns short.

It’s time to think seriously whether and how we will live…After America.

Consequently, herein, I lift my staring attention from the evil daily machinations of our current Enemies of the People (their name is legion, for they are many) and will widen my view to include how we can live through what’s coming.  If I have hope, it is a cowardly yearning, a plea that it will not come to awful fruition until I am down finally for the long dirt nap. Ah, but my progeny; my poor daughter, my unfortunate sons, and my lovely, innocent grandchildren. There will be no refuge for them, no respite, no mortal salvation. Unless, somehow, the ship is righted in this current generation.

I will allow the adolescent belief that miracles do happen to lie in the back of my brain, and turn my energy and thoughts to preparing for The Fall. Hereafter, what I write will deal more with getting by, with remaining alive and whole, with…surviving.

Something wicked this way comes. (I didn’t make that up; some guy named “Bradbury.” Look it up. I first read it when I was seventeen, and a new American soldier.) Mr. Dark is on the march. Save yourselves.
